John Madden began serving as a volunteer at Maryville in 1961 and has been on the Board of Directors since 1970, serving as Chairman of the Board for 30 years. He co-founded Madden Communications with his brother Joseph.
Mr. Madden also serves as Chairman of the Board of Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, a member of the Archdiocese of Chicago Catholic Charities Board of Directors, and as a long time member and Chairman of Ballarmine Jesuit Retreat House Board. He was one of three members of Cardinal Bernardin's Committee investigating clerical sexual misconduct in the Archdiocese of Chicago. He received the Archdiocese of Chicago's Humanitarian Award "In Service of Others" in 1995.
Mr. Madden also serves as a Trustee of Marquette University, where he received his Bachelor of Science.
