Maryville Cares
Maryville continually adapts its methods of working with children in need. We have
grown from providing care for abused and abandoned children in the beginning to
providing services and care for children with severe mental illness, developmental
disabilities, substance abuse, or medical complexities today. Likewise, our model of
care has changed to meet more intense and complex needs and to incorporate
cutting-edge research in child care.
The Model of Care Maryville uses is:
Individualized and strength-based
Each child’s strengths and needs are identified
and a plan of care is developed building on and working with those.
Multidisciplinary
We take a holistic approach to each child’s treatment addressing
educational, spiritual, nutritional, physical, recreational, medical, genetic, and
vocational needs.
Relationship-based
Children grow through relationships with healthy, nurturing
adults. Our staff is trained to provide support, direction, and guidance within a
therapeutic relationship.
Systems-sensitive
Our children are embedded in and profoundly affected by
child-serving systems.. We actively advocate for our children within these systems.
Trauma-informed
We believe it is imperative to understand and adapt our
methods to what trauma has wrought.
