About our program
Maryville provides short-term emergency shelter for children newborn through age five. Families use
the Maryville Crisis Nursery on a voluntary basis, knowing that their children will be safe and secure
while they are dealing with crises. While staying with us at the Maryville Crisis Nursery, children are
cared for in a nurturing environment, and are provided a safe haven from experiences and
environments that could harm them. Families receive support through crisis intervention, counseling
and referrals to community resources. Maryville’s Crisis Nursery is the only such facility in the
Chicago Metropolitan area.
