Encouraging fathers to become more active and involved in raising their children

Fathers play an important role in the healthy development of a child.  Maryville's Fatherhood Initiative encourages fathers to become more active and involved in raising their children.  We encourage them to develop a positive relationship with the child’s mother; spend time with their children; become a more nurturing parent; learn how to properly discipline their child; serve as protector and provider; and become positive role models.  We believe that these attributes play an important part in helping to strengthen family systems within our community.
