Members of the Junior Board will consists mainly of young professionals, between the ages of 21 and 45, who want to contribute their time and talents to the worthy causes of Maryville Academy.
While every person of any religious persuasion is invited to become a member of the Junior Board, it is generally understood that Maryville Academy, as an extension of Catholic Charities of Chicago, embraces and subscribes to the Principles of Catholic Social Teaching:
We believe
that every human being is created in the image of God, and that every human life at every stage of development and decline is precious.
We believe
that human persons are social beings with fundamental rights and corresponding responsibilities.
We believe
that human dignity can be protected and that the common good can be achieved only when human rights are protected and responsibilities are met.
Membership Obligations
Active member participation is
important to the success of the Junior Board. Each member is expected to attend
at least three (3) of the four (4) General Meetings held annually.
Membership Term-limits
Members are appointed to the Junior Board for a 3-year
term-limit.
Membership Dues
There are no dues associated with becoming a Junior Board member; however, we do suggest that members give at least $100 annually. The purchase of event tickets and/or the solicitation of funds or goods in support of an event or program will count towards achieving that goal.
Members who, for one reason or another, cannot reach that goal, are welcome to suggest an amount that is personally significant to them. Flexibility is given to any member who demonstrates extraordinary commitment in other ways.
