May 6, 2019 — Chicago Bears Zach Miller was honored by Maryville with the prestigious Ed Block Courage award for professionalism, strength and dedication. He is considered a community role model and advocate for victims of violence, abuse and neglect.
“Many of our children and families have faced great challenges,” said Sister Catherine M. Ryan, O.S.F., Maryville’s executive director. “It is fitting that this NFL player who began as a college walk-on serves as an inspiration to those whose paths were not easy, but still full of love, and glory, and success.”
The annual luncheon benefits the Ed McCaskey Scholarship Fund, which raises scholarship funds for children of Maryville.
