October 22, 2019 — The Chicago Sun-Times recently highlighted Helene Pochopien, the Director of the Maryville Children’s Healthcare Center (CHC), in their series spotlighting the people that keep Chicago thriving. The CHC is one of only two transitional care units in the state of Illinois. It is designed to help young people ages newborn through 21 years old who are considered medically fragile or completely dependent on devices like a ventilator or feeding pump. The staff are deeply invested in all the special children under their care, do everything possible to personalize the services and make the center a family environment. As Helene said, “it’s a happy place.” Watch the video and read the article here https://chicago.suntimes.com/helene-pochopien-maryville-childrens-healthcare-center
