November 15, 2017 — Maryville will participate in #GivingTuesday on November 28. #GivingTuesday is a global social media fundraising campaign.
#GivingTuesday follows Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday. #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving. It was fueled by the power of social media and is primarily an online giving campaign. It’s an opportunity for charities, families, businesses, organizations, and students around the world to come together for a shared purpose: to give back.
The Tap House in Des Plaines will donate $1 to Maryville for every hamburger purchased after 5 pm, Tuesdays, beginning #GivingTuesday, November 28 through December. Maryville is once again participating in #GivingTuesday, a global fundraising event.
“The Tap House has been a good friend to Maryville,” Maryville Executive Director Sister Catherine M. Ryan, O.S.F., said. “They help us raise funds to further our mission and give us another reason to engage in camraderie and enjoy the season.”
#GivingTuesday is a chance for people to support the organizations and causes they care about, whether it’s a gift of time or money. #GivingTuesday is officially designated on November 28th this year, but individuals can contribute any time.
Donations to Maryville can be made to a specific program or included in general funds. For those who wish to donate by mail, please designate #GivingTuesday on your check.
